Buttock Lift

Buttock lift or belt lipectomy helps to remove excess or sagging buttocks caused due to weight loss, aging, gravity, or genetics.

You might be an ideal candidate for buttock lift if:

  • Skin elasticity in the buttock region is lost owing to extreme weight loss or aging
  • Your thighs are crinkled, dimpled or flabby owing to lack of exercise or cellulite
  • You are a non-smoker
  • You are physically healthy

Buttock lift : The procedure

Buttock lift surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure using general anesthesia.

An incision is made at the waist or slightly underneath the waist. The excess skin and fat is completely removed, followed by skin tightening and closure.

Following the procedure, you will have to wear a sterile dressing or a compression garment that retains the skin in place, reduces inflammation and promotes natural tightening of the skin.

You might experience mild to moderate pain or discomfort which could be controlled using medications. There will be inflammation and bruising. However, it would subside within two to three weeks.

Complete recovery from buttock lift surgery takes four to six months. Refrain from strenuous activities for at least three months following the surgery.
