Crow's feet around eyes

Crow's feet or "laugh lines" or "character lines," refer to wrinkles which start to form at the outer corners of your eyes when you reach your mid-twenties. It is an obvious sign of aging. As we grow older, our skin tends to lose its elasticity and the production of collagen and elastin, the two important proteins responsible for the elasticity of our skin, results in the formation of wrinkles.

Here are some of tips for countering the inevitable laugh lines around your eyes:

  • Always use sunscreen while outdoors. This acts as a protection against the UV rays.
  • Quit smoking
  • To combat dryness and to keep your skin moisturized, drink plenty of water daily. Use good moisturizing creams that contain active agents such as retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids and copper peptides.
  • FDA-approved Botox treatments. It is always better to receive injections from a certified physician
  • Home remedies that contain vitamin E are highly effective. Vitamin E has strong antioxidant properties and is an ingredient found in a number of creams that are effective in countering wrinkles.
  • Applying egg white face masks are also a much favored natural approach.
  • Consume food that contains plenty of antioxidants such as eggplant, asparagus, fish and olive oil.
