Balancing Treatment For Dandruff

Human hair and scalp oil, sebum, contains a natural pH balance between 4.5 and 5.5. The natural hair acidity in the hair prevents the attack of fungi and bacteria in the hair and scalp. Most of the hair products that we use tend to disrupt the natural pH of the hair. There are several conditions that could indicate the pH of your hair.

  • Read the labels on your current hair products: A shampoo that contains a pH between 4 to 7 works well on your hair. Never use any product that is outside the 4 to 7 pH range.
  • Rinse your hair only using pH balanced shampoos and conditioners.
  • In case your hair is oily naturally, you should use natural acid like apple cidar vinegar or aloe vera gel to bring it into an acidic pH range
  • Apply a leave-in conditioner to wet hair and to restore it to the 4.5 to 5.5 natural acidity, in case your hair is naturally dry or damaged.
