Chin Augmentation

The chin plays an integral role in the facial symmetry of a person. Men often desire strong, masculine jaw line which would help them attain a harmonious balance in their facial features and enhance their appearance.

Mentoplasty, or chin augmentation, helps to redefine the facial contours and provide symmetry to a person's face.

At our center, we have a well-experienced team of cosmetic surgeons and physicians who will perform chin augmentations to provide you the best results. This is generally achieved by:

  • Inserting an implant
  • Shifting the bone forward to create a receding chin
  • Reducing a prominent or protruding chin
  • Submental liposuction in which excess amount of fatty tissue is removed to redefine the contours of the chin or neckline
  • Performing a facelift and neck lift procedure for tightening the neck muscles.

If the patient has dental malocclusion, or has birth abnormalities in the structure of the jaw, surgery of the jaw can redefine the form and function of the lower face and significantly enhance the appearance.

Sometimes, chin augmentation in performed in conjunction with Rhinoplasty.

Follow-up care is extremely important for this procedure. If you notice anything unusual in your appearance, it should be immediately reported to your surgeon.
